Welcome to FIRST® Greater Rochester Robotics Team 340′s Webpage!

FIRST® is an organization that was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989 and the first competition was held in 1992 in a New Hampshire High School gymnasium. Also known as For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, FIRST® was created to inspire students to work in the technology and engineering fields. Since its creation, FIRST® has made a positive impact in the lives of students and communities around the globe.

Team 340 was founded in 2000 and has achieved many things with the assistance of numerous mentors and people throughout the community. We are currently working on our robot and promotional endeavors for the 2012 Build Season.
Operating out of Churchville-Chili Senior High School in Rochester New York, we are a collection of students from
Rochester (NY) school districts including the High Schools of: Churchville-Chili, Wheatland-Chili, Aquinas, and Brockport. Although our team works 52 weeks a year on many different projects, each January through April we take part in the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC®).

Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities, including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
